This project consisted of constructing a new 29,000-square-foot, 367-seat theater and performing arts building. The facility includes a state-of-the-art theatrical audio-visual system, black box studio and highly sustainable features. The renovation to the high-tech student center was designed to make the student area flow for ease of access. The building integrates gathering spaces with circulation, allowing for student interaction to take place. Each red oak panel that was installed inside the Hillsdale High School Theater has a unique shape of its own. The circular design and the millwork in this college are very aesthetically pleasing. The columns throughout the building were wrapped in wood, and the attention to detail creates a beautiful environment for staff and students alike. This state-of-the-art facility blends the historical look and feel of Stanford University’s campus with modern features of a contemporary theater. The main theater includes 582 seats, which are grouped into more intimate areas by half-walls featuring curved, cherry wood caps. The center is a valuable addition for the school and the rest of the community.
This project was performed under the oversight of the Department of the State Architect. The theater underwent a complete remodel, with architectural casework and millwork throughout the interior, using African mahogany as the predominate wood. The Manzanita Park Residence Hall, now named Gerhard Casper Quad, is a dorm facility on the Stanford University campus that has 120 rooms and three resident suites. The casework installed on this project creates a warm, comfortable feel throughout the building. Cherry cabinets and quartz countertops adorn the suites and cherry wainscot and handrail run

Many recycled and sustainable materials were used in this project. The millwork in the lobby area is reclaimed old growth redwood from massive olive tanks built by the George Windeler Company of San Francisco in the 1930s. This two-story cruise ship terminal can handle 2,600 passengers regularly and up to 4,000 as needed. The terminal was built in the hub of the Embarcadero to allow passengers direct access to the city.
