UC Berkeley, Tolman Hall

Northwestern Design was involved in giving Tolman Hall on the UC Berkeley campus a facelift. The eight-floor, 340,000-square-foot remodel began in March 2017 and finished in April 2018. The building houses the School of Public Health, Graduate School of Education and the Department of Psychology.

NWD constructed the walnut wooden benches found on multiple floors inside the complex, which features new classrooms, offices, open work stations and collaborative space. While the wooden benches are one of the interior highlights students can take advantage of, other parts of the refresh project included multiple break rooms and a security desk. Northwestern Design also had a hand in coordinating and designing countertops and shelves in the Dean’s office.
